The second part of this article describes how to downgrade macOS Mojave to macOS High Sierra. Note: These initial instructions are not to downgrade from Mojave to High Sierra but to download High Sierra to use on another Mac. This TechJunkie tutorial will show you the process of downloading macOS High Sierra. Thankfully, there’s still a way to download High Sierra on a Mac running Mojave, even if Apple doesn’t make the process clear. We here at TechJunkie even discussed the issue in an article about the problems with frequent updates need for Apple to tap the brakes: Apple’s Frequent Update Experiment Has Failed – It’s Time for Another Snow Leopard. Reasons for doing so may include downloading an installer for another Mac that has limited or no Internet access, troubleshooting another Mac that won’t boot, or even creating a bootable installer for the purpose of downgrading your own Mac if you find that software you rely on has incompatibilities with the latest version of macOS. While Apple would justify this limitation in the name of simplifying things for consumers, the fact remains that many users may still need to download an older version of macOS at some point. The idea is that once you upgrade to the latest version of macOS there’s no going back to using an earlier version. For example, once you’re running macOS Mojave, you won’t see the macOS High Sierra page listed in the Mac App Store, nor will it show up in App Store search results. NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for macOS High Sierra 10.13.0 (378.10.10.10.How to Download macOS High Sierra From macOS MojaveĮver since Apple started using the Mac App Store to distribute operating system updates, the company hasn’t made it particularly easy to access older versions of macOS. Most major note-taking services, such as Evernote, are compatible with Siri. Plus, it’s not limited to Apple’s Notes app. You can also ask it to read your existing notes aloud. Siri supports a wide range of commands for editing and creating new notes. With your iPhone’s virtual assistant, Siri, you can skip all that and begin dictating your note’s content without ever touching your phone. In the previous method, you still need to pick up your phone, perform a swipe-down action, and tap a button to just enter a blank note. The notes you save using this trick will go into a separate folder called “Quick Notes” in Apple’s Notes app. Once you’re done, you can simply wake up your phone, pull down Control Center, and tap the little “scribble” icon to start jotting down a note. You can do that from Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Allow Access When Locked > Control Center. You should also allow access to the Control Center while your phone is locked so that you don’t have to wait for it to unlock before taking a note. Here, you can customize whether your iPhone should launch a new note or resume the one you edited last. Next, navigate to Settings > Notes and tap “Access Notes from Lock Screen.” The addition of features like text scanning from photographs, tags, and smart folders has helped to make it worthwhile.3. Before the appearance of the first Dick and Jane stories, reading primers "generally included Bible stories or fairy tales with complicated language and few pictures." After the Elson-Gray series ended in 1940, the characters continued in a subsequent series of primary readers that were later revised and enlarged into newer editions. "Dick" and "Jane" originally appeared in Elson-Gray Readers in 1930. Campbell did most of the early illustrations. Gray and others wrote the Dick and Jane stories illustrator Eleanor B. Sharp named the characters, selected and edited the storylines from ideas that others submitted, and supervised production of the books. In addition, Sharp developed the main characters of "Dick" and "Jane", the older brother and sister in a fictional family that included "Mother", "Father", and a younger sister named "Sally", their pets, "Spot" (originally a cat in the 1930s, but a dog in later editions), and "Puff", their cat and a toy teddy bear named "Tim". She worked with Gray to develop the readers after noting the reduced reading ability of children and urged the use of a new reading format for primers. Zerna Sharp, a former teacher, came up with the idea for what became the Dick and Jane readers for elementary school children while working as a reading consultant and textbook editor for Scott Foresman. Gray's vision was to tie "subject area" books in health, science, social studies, and arithmetic (each discipline having its own series of graded texts also published by Scott Foresman) with the vocabulary mastered in the basic readers, thus vastly improving readability in these same areas. Gray's research focused on methods to improve reading instruction using content that would be of interest to children and develop their word-recognition skills. Elson the Elson Basic Readers (renamed the Elson-Gray Basic Readers in 1936), which Scott Foresman published in Chicago, Illinois. William Scott Gray (1885–1960), director of the Curriculum Foundation Series at Scott, Foresman and Company and dean of the University of Chicago's college of education, co-authored with William H. The predecessors to the Dick and Jane primers were the phonics-based McGuffey Readers, which were popular from the mid-nineteenth to the mid-twentieth century, and the Elson Basic Readers. The Dick and Jane primers have become icons of mid-century American culture and collectors' items.ĭespite criticisms of the stereotypical content that depicted white, middle-class Americans and despite the "whole-word" or "sight word" ( look-say) method of teaching reading on which these readers are based, they retain cultural significance for what they tell us about literacy education in the mid-twentieth century. For a generation of middle-class Americans, the characters of "Dick", "Jane", and their younger sister "Sally" became household words. The Dick and Jane series were known for their simple narrative text and watercolor illustrations. Although the Dick and Jane series of primers continued to be sold until 1973 and remained in use in some classrooms throughout the 1970s, they were replaced with other reading texts by the 1980s and gradually disappeared from school curricula. These readers were used in classrooms in the United States and in other English-speaking countries for nearly four decades, reaching the height of their popularity in the 1950s, when 80 percent of first-grade students in the United States used them. The characters first appeared in the Elson-Gray Readers in 1930 and continued in a subsequent series of books through the final version in 1965. Fun With Dick and Janeĭick and Jane are the two main characters created by Zerna Sharp for a series of basal readers written by William S. We'll use the 'GraphQL schema language' - it's similar to the query language, and allows us to talk about GraphQL schemas in a language-agnostic way. We’ll start by defining our GraphQL query and implement the allBooks method specified in our example GraphQL schema: public class GraphQLQuery implements GraphQLQueryResolver ") ĪssertThat(responseEntity.getResponse().getAllBooks()).hasSize(2) We’ll make use of the GraphQL Java library for our GraphQL server implementation. When we use an input type instead of individual arguments, we'll also need to change how we pass variables into a query.Let’s create a simple GraphQL server in Java using the schema we defined above. We'll dive deeper into how a GraphQL service defines these functions for its fields in a later article. The range the function would use should be defined by the minTotal and maxTotal values the function received on the totalRange argument.

Invest some time in getting to know a few of the map's points of interest before hopping into a game, such as some handy routes in mind for snagging loot. You have plenty of time to reach your destination, so don’t rush straight towards an extraction point. Points labelled with a ' ?' require you to perform an additional action before extracting such as finding a key or paying some roubles. Only certain extraction points are active during a raid and they randomly rotate each time you spawn: Double tap ‘ O’ to check which points are accessible. In other words, if you spawn on the west side of the map, your extraction points will be on the east, and vice versa. Customs’ many extraction points line its exterior and always require you to travel across the map before you can leave. You won't win any awards for bravery, but that doesn't matter if it gives you enough loot to set you up for survival. Equally if you hide close to your spawn point, you have the chance to mop up a few choice treasures from downed opponents. Players tend to linger around the spawn points, so take cover as quickly as possible when you start. If you can spot the Gas Station, Shipping Yard, or a lot of woodland then you can safely assume you’ve arrived on the east side of Customs. Key landmarks that indicate you’ve landed on the west side of the map include the Storage Sheds and ‘Big Red’, a sizeable red warehouse. You're much better off heading to the EFT wiki and using one of the detailed community-made maps and keeping it open on a second screen like your phone, tablet, or monitor.Īfter spawning, get your bearings and plan your route to one of the available extraction points-see more on those below. Though it's possible for you to purchase a Customs map from The Therapist (select Trading in the main menu), the maps she sells aren't nearly as helpful as ones you can find online and it takes up valuable inventory space. While a compass has been confirmed for an upcoming patch, don’t expect to have a minimap to help you navigate. One of the early challenges you’ll face in a raid is recognising where you are on the map. (Image credit: Battlestate Games) What to do at the beginning of the raidĪ raid is a single play session in EFT, and it's marked from when you enter a map to the moment you die or attain extraction. If you’re ready to play with others but still don’t feel confident, select the Scav class to spawn with random gear, instead of risking it all with your own equipment as a PMC. Just remember that while you won't lose any gear if you die in Offline mode, you also can't take any loot you find with you. This will spawn Scavs you can fight against but you won't have to worry about enemy players, which is a great way to familiarize yourself with Customs' unforgiving landscape. If you're a brand new player, consider playing in Offline mode but turning PVE on. Before you drop into a map, click next to hit the Insurance menu and tick the items that you want to insure and then click Ready to deploy. Depending on which character you insure it with, the return time can vary, but 24-36 hours is estimated for the default insurer. However it can be insured and returned to you, if other players in the server don’t take it. If you die, you lose your gear permanently. Before entering a raid, select Character in the main menu and drag the gear from your stash onto your character model to take it with you. Playing as a PMC launches you into a raid as your main character. I had bought a few (NOS): RFT12AX7 and some EiCV492 (these were commonly used as Mullard counterfeit tubes, they are good tubes though). The added cost due to limited resources, is it worth the risk? It can be hit or miss when it comes to NOS as they are not tubes you find at every resource like you would get with current production. But for me and my experiences, I’ve been through dozens of NOS/VOS tubes in multiple amps over the past few decades, and of all the amps I currently own and play, only one has an NOS tube still in it, my TC-100. If someone is happy with using NOS tubes in their gear that is really all that matters. This is quite a difference from a full bandwidth, ultra low distortion audio amplifier that is designed to be played in isolation, which will reveal these intricate changes in sound, especially with a great set of headphones. Guitar amps (and their speaker cabinets) are far from high-fidelity audio systems, they are a narrow bandwidth system with a lot of clipping stages, they work in a specific frequency range designed to compliment the guitar’s frequency range and blend with other instruments and their frequency ranges. IMO the benefit of NOS tubes in cathode follower use is their ability to handle the higher voltages used in that position yet remain their composure. Most times it is a very negligible difference that gets lost in the mix of a live band. I’ve been down the NOS rabbit hole many times, and any ‘benifit’ from NOS tubes really depends on the amp’s circuit. Still not a bad choice but I much prefer less drone so what I have in the Roadster right now has satisfied me to enjoy playing through the amp. The Tung Sol 12AX7 in V1 was changing what I liked about the amp too much. It does affect the tone somewhat so perhaps it is the 5751 I have in V1 is what is working for me. I have not experienced any issues to date with the JAN/GE 12AX7 in the cathode follower positions. The stock complement of preamp tubes was just too muddy when running the Modern voice on CH4. I personally found the chines tubes in V3 to be on the bright side. The Mullard in V2 and JAN 5751 in V1 keeps the response tight but not like you would get with the Multi-Watt Dual Rec. I did try the RFT in V1 and or V2 and felt that was too much for me. JAN/GE 5751 in V1, Mullard reissue 12AX7 in V2 and phase inverter. Also have been running this amp more since the changes. Still have the JAN/GE 12ax7 tubes in V3 and V5. It lives up to its name with unlimited cash-back, including no cap on the cash-back match at the end of your first year.
